Hannah Dodson is a civil rights and criminal defense attorney with a deep interest in reforming the carceral system and re-examining conditions of confinement.
Hannah is originally from Massachusetts. She moved to California to attend Stanford University for her undergraduate degree. After working to advocate for incarcerated children in post-conviction proceedings, Hannah made the decision to go to law school. Hannah attended University of Michigan with a merit scholarship. During her law school tenure Hannah participated in the Criminal Appellate Clinic as well as the Juvenile Justice Clinic. She also published a law journal article detailing how to limit arrests of children through narrowing police presence in schools. Hannah was deeply engaged with the Public Defender initiative and completed the Public Defenders Training Institute. Hannah spent her summers working the Gault Center for Juvenile Justice Reform and the Brooklyn Defenders Service.
After graduating from law school, Hannah moved to Colorado to join the Office of the State Public Defender. Hannah worked in the Adams County Public Defender Office. During that tenure Hannah completed upwards of 20 jury trials.
