Denver Post: Jail Wrongful Death Lawsuit

David Maxted filed a wrongful death and civil rights lawsuit against Adams County jail, the Sheriff, and medical provider Wellpath, due to the failure to protect pretrial detainee Kyle Yoemans from being killed by an “erratically homicidal” man while in custody of the Weld County jail.

“Had the defendants housed Mr. Bachicha in a medical or mental health unit, Mr. Yoemans would still be alive,” the lawsuit says. “The defendants’ decision failed to protect Mr. Yoemans and led directly to his horrific, painful death.”
